Build the future...at Nevada State College. Library Internship (Professional Staff) Nevada State College Library is currently seeking exceptional candidates for a graduate-level library internship. This program is designed to coincide with the candidate’s scholarly pursuits while enrolled in an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program. Interns will have the unique opportunity to develop and enhance their course of education while working in a professional library setting. Candidates will work under the direct supervision of a professional librarian, providing them the opportunity to foster a mentorship throughout the duration of their course studies. Interns will present project ideas corresponding with their areas of study. In addition to independent projects approved by library supervisors, interns will engage in professional activities such as advocacy and faculty outreach, policy and procedure development, professional organization participation, statistics and record maintenance, collections management, and bibliographic instruction. Interns generally will work a maximum of 40 hours per week. Qualifications Qualifying candidates must be accepted - as of fall 2008 - at least part-time in an ALA accredited MLS/MLIS program and have at least 2 years full-time work experience in a library environment.
